I was born in Aberdeen and grew up in the small coastal village of St.Combs. Our first house was pretty much built on the sand. One of my earliest memories is looking over the garden wall to the dunes and hearing the waves.

We moved to a more suitable house when I was 4. It was from there I started school.

Fast foward 31 years. I’m 35. In a few months I’ll be 36. It’s the 8th of December and I’m in Hong Kong again. I left here in June after a year to travel around South East Asia: Bali, Thailand, Cambodia.

It’s 21 degrees celsius at the moment and the air is as fresh and cool as it ever will be in Hong Kong. People are wrapped up in coats and scarves. The sun is shining as I look out over Kowloon Park. Christmas is coming.
